Return to school November 2021

Posted on Sunday, October 31, 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,
I hope everyone had a lovely break and is enjoying Halloween afternoon.
Here is the link for the return to school form. Please complete a separate form for each of your children.
We have been so fortunate so far to have no Covid cases in the school so please note the following:

  • If in any doubt, please exercise caution. Contact your doctor for advice and follow public health advice. HSE information for parents.
  • We had a lot of children sick with chest infections before Halloween. Again follow doctors advice, while it is not Covid it is very infectious and keeping your child at home for those infectious days will mean it does not spread to the other children in the classroom.
  • If your child has a cold, give them their own pack of tissues and a little bottle of hand sanitiser so they don't have to walk over to the bathroom everytime they need to blow their nose. Remind them to cough into their elbow and to sanitise very often.
  • We have the heating on in school but the windows are open. Skins/thermals underneath their uniform could be needed as the weather gets colder.
  • Every child needs a coat with a hood everyday.  Sometimes it's a little misty and we have the children outside for a quick 5 minute break outside. They need a coat with a hood always for this.
  • If your child has to miss a few days, contact the class teacher and some work can be sent home.
We are all looking forward to the next few weeks and the lead up to Christmas. While it can be daunting listening to the news, we have coped very well so far and if we all work together school will continue as normal as possible for the children.
Finally, we might have a few tired children tomorrow, so there will be no homework tomorrow evening!
Kind regards,
Éilis Treacy
Principal
